History

Each of our locations are steeped in history and traditions that strongly link us to the communities we serve. We are proud to be involved in each of these communities and look forward to providing financial services for our customers for many years to come.

Layton State Bank started in 1920 at 2740 W. Forest Home in response to the Layton Park businessmen who rode the trolley and wanted a bank conveniently located at the last stop. The businessmen went door-to-door in the community to raise the necessary capital to establish our first location, and over 80 years later our main office is still in the original building.

Our second location was built in Historic Greendale in 1947, just 9 years after the community was founded. In 1971 we moved to our current location of 5850 Broad Street . We are extremely proud to be the only independent bank in the Village of Greendale and maintain a strong presence in the community.

Our third and most recent location is in New Berlin. Built in 2000, our new office is a symbol of how Layton State Bank has grown and expanded along with its neighbors in the Milwaukee metro area. Located at 4850 S. Moorland Rd we are now able to serve more of our customers more conveniently.

Layton State Bank is a full service bank offering a complete range of products and services with a personal touch, attention to detail, and quality service that only a community bank can provide.
